I-Images
As a means to visualizing my big ideas around teaching 7th grade life science, I took a field trip to Chicago's amazing Museum of Science and Industry. I collected images from there and a subsequent trip to the collections of Architectual Artifacts. The three images represent my first attempt to create a vision to guide myself and my future 7th grade life science students. I borrowed the words of artist, Leonardo da Vinci and combined them into a Google Drawing to create three i-Images I may use to launch the forthcoming school year.
The first image shown above represents to me the idea that we are born open-minded and curious. The second, below left, speaks to the ties that bind us and those which lead us to new paths and sometimes new solutions to problems we face. And the third, offers a contrast between the technology used to build a steel bridge in order to connect us to each other across the vast terrain that is natural to our planet. We are connected to each other, our community, our universe.
